Semaphore is currently on hiatus as the Editor is on her OE. The archives will remain online, and Semaphore should be open to submissions again from February/March next year. Watch this space for news.

Semaphore Magazine is a New Zealand-based quarterly e-zine that publishes short speculative fiction and poetry by authors from Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world. In 2010 Semaphore received the Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Production / Publication in recognition of its accomplishments as a New Zealand publisher of speculative fiction.

It doesn't stop there, of course - recognition is wonderful, but it's also a challenge to continue to strive to excell in providing a forum to showcase brilliant science fiction and fantasy by local and international authors.

Although Semaphore is currently closed to new submissions, we hope to start publishing again in early 2012. In the meantime, keep and eye on the Semaphore blog to be informed of the latest news.
